Crescent Consulting implemented Pratt Institute’s Local, Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Initiative to assist with subcontracting and employment goals. The building, located one block from the main campus on the formerly vacant site at 534 Myrtle Ave., is a mixed-use structure aiming to achieve LEED certification. In addition to its green characteristics, the building will house several academic programs and administrative offices. The new facility, 534 Myrtle Avenue, will not only serve as a local and national model of sustainable design, but also create a living laboratory with educational programming for community groups and public schools. Crescent’s staff worked with the client, project team, and local community organizations, provided referral of Local, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses in preparation of bid list and analyzed the Contractors’ Monthly Employment utilization Reports.
