The largest building project in the Campus’ 78-year history, is located on the Brooklyn campus at the corner of Ashland and DeKalb avenues, the Wellness Center is a hub of activity for student activities and athletic events.
The athletic center features a 2,500 seat arena, tennis courts, running track sit atop the roof, state-of-the-art fitness center and a 25 yard swimming pool that the school’s NCAA Division 1 teams utilize for competitions. The facility also serves as a venue for community civic and social events.
Crescent managed and achieved the goals set in place by Long Island University’s Local Community Initiative for M/W/LBE and Workforce Programs on their state of the art athletic facility. The project achieved 30% MWBE participation in construction contracts and 50% participation for Minority Women and Local resident workforce participation.
Daily responsibilities for the Project Manager include without limitation the coordination and marketing of community outreach events, assistance with the preparation of bid list, liaison role between project team and L/M/WBE firms, submit monthly reports to project team and LIU, identify areas of concern and recommend options to the Project Team.
